Biography
AnnaMarie Bethune is currently a Nashville-based artist who is focused on performance and education. She graduated from Wayne State University in May of 2022 with a BS in Dance and a minor in Musical Theatre. AnnaMarie is a versatile artist who moves gracefully through her roles as teacher, actor, singer, choreographer, and dancer in multiple genres. She has taught at multiple dance studios throughout Michigan and not-for-profit institutions including The Institution of Dance Arts (IDA) in Ferndale, Jordan Mac Studios in Rochester, and aided the Boll Family YMCA in establishing a dance program. As an educator, she strives to bring dance education to all ages (2-60+), she is passionate about making dance education more accessible, and she brings such education to students in an encouraging and positive manner. AnnaMarie’s performance experience is a combination of concert dance, musical theatre, choir, and more. She is a well-versed performer who has a mezzo-soprano voice, trained in jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, modern, and hip-hop dance styles. She prides herself on being able to take on multiple roles and responsibilities with grace and enthusiasm.
Performer Profile
AnnaMarie Bethune grew up on a farm in a small town in North Alabama. She began dancing and performing at a very young age. As she grew as a dancer and performer, she pursued musical theatre at the local community college (Northeast Alabama Community College), by auditioning for their 2015-2016 season. She was cast in her first production, Big Fish, as the Mermaid and a Dance Captain. It was during this incredible show, that lives so brightly in her memory, that she established her love for choreography, the stage, and performance. AnnaMarie recognized the need for dance education in the area and decided to open a dance studio at the age of 17, the summer before her senior year of high school. As she performed, was a part of the creative team for NACC Theatre, competed in dance competitions, and began a small business, she realized that the hustle, creativity, and love she found in the world of performance needed a significant place in her future. AnnaMarie graduated with a degree in Dance, minor in Musical Theatre from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI in 2022. She is loving, kind, creative, and has a passion for education as much as performance.
